Man shot dead

DASKA: A 40-year-old man was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in the city area on Tuesday. Iftikhar Ahmed was heading home when he was shot dead.

LOCALS DEPRIVED OF VALUABLES: Locals were deprived of cash and valuables on Tuesday. Atif Rasheed of Mohallah Mughalpura was present at his house with his family members when three dacoits barged into the house took the family hostage and snatched Rs 40,000 and four tola gold. Some gunmen barged into the shop of Boota and snatched Rs 70,000 in broad daylight. Mubarik Ali was going to home from Daska when three bandits intercepted him and snatched thousand of rupees, a cell phone and his motorcycle.

GIRL RAPED: A girl was raped in the area of Sadr police on Tuesday. The daughter of (S) was busy at her home when accused Irfan entered the house and raped her.

FOUR HELD OVER BATHING IN CANAL: City police Tuesday arrested four people on charges of taking bath in the BRB canal. The accused violated the ban and police arrested Qadeer, Atif, Baber and Shahzad.

BOOKED FOR SHELTERING PO: Satra police Tuesday registered a case against an accused on charges of sheltering a proclaimed offender (PO). Police raided a locality to arrest PO Muhammad Saleem but he escaped as he was alerted about the police arrival by his accomplice Nawaz.
