Govt to sponsor treatment of TB patient from Larkana
Karachi
Following the directives of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, a Larkana resident suffering from tuberculosis, Asma, has been transferred to Aga Khan Hospital.
Sindh Health Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain ensured that the patient who hails from Larkana would be provided with best healthcare facilities. He said that the patient will go through a thorough checkup and all expenses regarding her treatment would be borne by Sindh government.
The minister expressed concern at the shortage of medical staff in Hala’s government hospital and called for an immediate action. He also asked the hospital management to keep a tab on the attendance of the staff especially gynecologists and women medical officers. With no doctor to administer anesthesia during surgeries, Hussain directed Secretary Health to post one on emergency basis.
He reminded that any sort of negligence or corruption will not be tolerated, and took notice of the delay in trauma centres’ construction at taluka level.
