ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that he would make the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan accountable on the Judgement Day for mudslinging against him.
Commenting on Imran Khan’s statement who declared ‘35 punctures’ allegation a political statement’, Ayaz Sadiq said articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution speak about honesty and truth. He questioned the credibility of the leader who speaks lies.
He said articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution do not make a distinction between a ‘lie’ and a ‘political statement’. The speaker went on to say that these articles be invoked on person whoever is found guilty of speaking a lie.
He said following the return of the PTI parliamentarians in the National Assembly, no reason was left to halt their salaries. However, he said if Imran wants to return the money of the masses instead of giving it to the Shaukat Khanum Hospital, he can do so.
