From Our Correspondent
GUJRANWALA: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Muhammad Amir Jaan Saturday directed assistant commissioners of Wazirabad and Kamoke to take protective measures prior to monsoon and possible floods.
Addressing a meeting at his office, the DCO called for institutions concerned to cope with the flood situation with mutual coordination.
All ACs and heads of various departments attended the meeting.
The DCO said arrangements should be better than that of taken during the last year.
He said 16 relief centres were established in the district and the control room was also established in his office to inspect the flood relief arrangements.
He asked relevant officers to keep necessary machinery in operational condition to meet the flood threat.
He directed officers and staff of Wasa, rescue 1122, civil defence departments and THQ hospitals to be available 24 hours during monsoon.
He directed the ACs to visit relief centres and nullahs and submit inspection report to him.
The DCO said he personally would monitor protective arrangements and inspect the areas on Monday.
