Comprehensive arrangements made on Eid: DCO

FAISALABAD: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Salman Ghani Tuesday said the district administration had made comprehensive arrangements for smooth celebration of Eidul Fitr in the district.
Talking to reporters during his visit to different areas of the city, the DCO said relevant departments had been put on high alert in terms of security and administrative issues for the people.
He said civil defence volunteers with security gadgets had been deputed at Eid congregations and recreational spots besides deployment of cops.
He said a four-day campaign was launched to wash important city roads and roadside areas for Eid congregations.
The DCO said public parks were renovated. Moreover, traffic plan had been devised for smooth flow of traffic besides making special arrangements for vehicle parking at different points by the Faisalabad Parking Company.
The DCO said Eid greetings banners were also displayed at important roads, chowks and public places.
He said emergency services of different departments would remain extraordinary active to cope with any untoward incident. Moreover, he said, emergency services in the government hospitals were also remained active to tackle any emergency situation.
The DCO said special duties had been assigned to officers of the district administration to check the emergency services in hospitals and monitoring the security arrangements at Eid congregations and recreational points.
He also visited the District Headquarters Hospital and checked duties of doctors at emergency block.
He visited different sections of the emergency block and checked the stock of the necessary medicines and duty roaster of the staff. He directed the hospital administration for ensuring the duty doctors and para-medical staff during the Eid holidays.
He said dereliction from duty would not be tolerated at any cost.
Later, the DCO checked the surveillance activities of anti dengue teams in different areas of the city.
He said Eid leaves of anti-dengue staff had been cancelled and the surveillance activities would continue even during Eid holidays.
Reportedly, Divisional Commissioner Momin Agha and DCO Salman Ghani would visit government hospitals, Darul Amaan, SOS village and other welfare institutions to give gifts to their residents.
