Transport owners charge double fare ahead of Eid
From Our Correspondent
GUJRANWALA: Taking advantage of the compulsion of people, who want to celebrate Eid with their families, the transport owners are charging almost double fare on all routes in Gujranwala.
Most out-of-town employees have started, leaving Gujranwala to spend Eid holidays with their families. A large number of people can be seen at different bus stands. Some transport owners have installed additional seats to squeeze in more passengers. At certain places, desperate passengers can be seen exchanging hot words with drivers and conductors for charging twice the normal fare. Passengers have criticised the authorities concerned for failing to stop the transport owners from overcharging and overloading.
