LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday said the statements of Tariq Mir and Muhammad Anwar were a black spot on the face of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Talking to a private TV channel, he said Tariq Mir had put the MQM on trial, adding that these stains would not go unless Tariq Mir and Muhammad Anwar cleansed them. He said many days had passed but nobody from the MQM had tried to remove these stains.
“Now it is the responsibility of the MQM to clear these stains. If the MQM wants to maintain its vote bank, then it has to prove all the alleged allegations wrong.”The minister said Scotland Yard had been contacted for evidence while the allegations were also being examined after which the law will take its due course.
Commenting on the PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, Pervaiz Rashid said he should learn a lesson from his previous mistakes.Talking about the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the minister said it was the decision of the PPP to appoint any person to any slot. Expressing good wishes, he said Bilawal’s family had rendered many sacrifices for the country and democracy.
He further said electricity loadshedding had been reduced to six to eight hours as the government had increased power production from 12,000MWs to 16,000MWs.Commenting on India, the minister said only peace could bring prosperity in the region, as wars only bring destruction.
