Two labourers die in mill

OKARA: Two labourers were killed while three others injured after falling into a pulp tank in a paper mill on Okara-Depalpur Road on Thursday.
Five labourers, including Imran, Ghulam Nabi, Shakil and Farooq, were working in the mill when they suddenly fell into a pulp tank. As a result, Imran and Ghulam Nabi died on the spot while three others were injured. They were shifted to a hospital from where Shakil and Farooq were referred to a Lahore hospital due to their critical condition. Sadr police have registered a case against mill owner Rizwan Ahmad and labour contractor Nasir under Section 322 of the PPC. Meanwhile, District Coordination Officer Sucrat Aman Rana along with Rescue-1122 workers rushed to the site.

Muhammad Waris used to quarrel with his wife Sajida Bibi over domestic disputes. On the day of the incident, he allegedly strangled his wife. After committing the crime, the accused reached Sadr police station and surrendered himself to the police.
