Three dacoits killed, several arrested in Sukkur encounters
SP says crime rate in Khairpur is zero; no highway robberies, kidnappings, street crimes

SUKKUR: The Khairpur Police shot dead a dacoit in an encounter on Sunday and recovered a kidnapped child.
SP Sajid Husain Khokhar told a press conference that the police raided a hideout of dacoit Rajo Nariajo in the limits of Faiz Muhammad Bhido and recovered six-year-old boy Gada Husain.He said the dacoit, who was carrying Rs2.5 million head money, had killed a woman Zarina and had kidnapped the child and was demanding Rs5 million for his release.
SP Sajid Husain Khokhar said an encounter in the limits of Sorah police station between police and a gang of dacoits occured when the dacoit was robbing vehicles at the road. The SP said in another incident there was an exchange of firing in which a dacoit Taj Muhammad alias Taju Paichoho was killed, while his associates escaped. A Kalashnikov, one bike and bullets were found with the body of the dacoit, who was also involved in the kidnapping of Fazal Muhammad, Rasool Bakhsh, Ishaq and others. He was also wanted to Khairpur, Jacobabad and other police. He said Taju belonged to Jafarabad and was active in Sindh and Balochistan.
The SP announced certificates and rewards for the police team and said the IGP Sindh also appreciated Khairpur police on the performance. The SP Khokhar also informed in the press conference about another encounter after which Azam Khan, Naseer Ahmad, Ali Gohar and Zahoor Phulpoto were arrested. Two TT pistols, a double barrel gun and other ammunition were recovered from them. He said the arrested criminals were wanted to police in different criminal cases. Zahoor Phulpoto was injured in the encounter.
