Only voters can change present system, says Qadri
LAHORE
Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has urged upon the people that it was their responsibility to elect honest, sincere and truthful representatives.
Talking to PAT leaders, including Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Fayyaz Warraich, Noorullah Sadique, Sajid Bhatti, Jawad Hamid, Shakir Mazari, Rafique Najam, Tanveer Khan, Irfan Yousaf and Farrah Naz here on Tuesday, the PAT chief said due to the corrupt and unjust electoral system, election after election, only those people went to the parliament who either bought votes and the election staff or those who had huge political influence.
He said country needed well-educated and honest leadership, which could take the country to the heights of development with their bravery and honesty.
He said the slogans and reasons upon which Pakistan was created remained unfulfilled and the country had been facing crisis after crisis.
He said these were the reasons that Pakistan had never seen peace and stability and neither responsible nor honest leadership. He said the day the people of the country use their voting power judiciously and understand that it is they who can change the system, that will be the day problems of Pakistan would be solved and only then will we have honest and responsible leadership.
He said in holy month of Ramazan, we all must vow to take guidance from the teachings and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and not only transform our lives and characters but also work towards making the country a peaceful state.
