Seven cops booked for abduction

OKARA: On the order of Additional Sessions Judge Gul Abbas, Sadr police registered a case against seven policemen on the charges of abducting a man and extracting money from his father.
In a petition, Shaukat Ali of New Faisal Park alleged that ASIs Abdul Razzaq, Amanat Ali and Munir Azam, Constables Obaid Ali Butt and Adil and two unidentified policemen entered his house and allegedly abducted his son Ali Raza on January 13, 2015. Later, the accused policemen called Shaukat and demanded Rs 400,000 for release of his son, he added. He said that the accused policemen threatened to kill Ali Raza in a fake encounter in case of non-payment of the amount. He said that the deal was struck at Rs 305,000 and the policemen released Ali Raza on payment of the amount at Shergarh.
29 FARMERS BOOKED: Depalpur Sadr police booked 29 farmers on the charge of stealing canal water. Fifteen farmers belonged to Bahawaldas village and 14 to Hakim Sadharkay village. They were booked on the report of the SDO.
FIVE HELD: Police arrested five people with narcotics in different incidents here.
Police arrested Shahzad of Octroi Post No-7 with 290 gram charas, Shahbaz of Mansoorabad with 1,820 gram charas, Rashid of Sher-e-Rabbani Town with 1,100 gram charas and Babar Ali of Khokhar Kothi with 430 gram charas. Separate cases have been registered.
