FWMC acting MD issued show-cause notice for power abuse

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Waste Management Company (FWMC) Board of Directors (BoD) has issued a show-cause notice to General Manager Operations Amad Gill for sacking officials without taking them into confidence after having additional charge of the managing director.
BoD member MPA Ch Faqir Hussain Dogar, through the notice, has directed Amad Gill to explain in which capacity he had sacked Secretary Aurangzeb Shami, Transport Manager Zafar Dogar, Staff Workshop purchaser Irfan Wazir, driver Malik Zahid and photographer Ali Imran and made some new appointments including, daily wagers. The GM Operations has been directed to explain his position in 15-days of the issuance of the notice.
In the show-cause notice, the GM has been informed that it will be in his knowledge that the BoD has curtailed power of the managing director, regarding recruitment and sacking of employees, then in which capacity he had appointed daily-wagers and other staffers. He has also been asked to explain why he had not presented resignation of the senior manager (Finance) in the BoD meeting as only the board had the power of hiring and firing. When contacted, Amad Gill was not available. However, his spokesman confirmed the issuance of show-cause notice and said that he (Amad) would submit his reply in the stipulated period.
