Rain turns city roads into ‘rivulets’
From Our Correspondent
GUJRANWALA: Heavy rain Wednesday turned the city streets and roads into ‘rivulets’ choking city drainage system.
The rain of two-hour duration left GT Road, Jinnah Road, Circular Road, Pasrur Road, Peoples Colony, Wahdat Colony, Noshera Road, Baghbanpura, Gondlanwala Road, Urdu Bazaar, Satellite Town, Model Town and adjoining areas inundated causing troubles to people.
Motorists suffered troubles as their vehicles were stalled in water. This was the first heavy rain of the season, which exposed the sanitation and drainage system of the city.
The locals urged the authorities concerned to take notice of the failed drainage system of the city.
