Govt announces holidays for educational institutions
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced Eid and spring holidays for all the public sector and private elementary, secondary and higher educational institutions commencing from March 29 and to April 8.
Separate notifications to this effect were issued by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department and the Higher Education Department on Wednesday. The Elementary and Secondary Education Department in its notification stated that all public and private educational institutions under its jurisdiction would remain closed April 1, 2025 to April 8, 2025 (both days inclusive) on account of spring holidays.
However, the department has instructed that all principals, head teachers and clerical staff to remain present at their schools from April 3 to April 8, 2025, following the Eidul Fitr holidays.During this period, they will be responsible for distributing free textbooks to students and continuing the enrollment process for new students as part of the ongoing admission campaign.
Meanwhile, the Higher Education Department issued an order for the closure of all public and private higher education institutions in the province on account of both the spring and Eidul Fitr holidays.
These institutions will remain closed from March 29, 2025, to April 7, 2025 (both days inclusive), allowing staff and students to celebrate the festive occasion.Educational institutions are expected to resume their normal activities after the conclusion of the holidays, with schools reopening on April 9, 2025.
