Feeder buses finalised at Multan,Lahore, Rawalpindi metro stations
MULTAN: The Punjab Mass Transit Authority Monday finalized the launch of feeder buses at Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi metro stations and link routes in metro bus system.
According to officials, air-conditioned imported feeder buses will move on metro station linked routes. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had directed the PMTA for issuance of feeder bus service on rout linked to metro stations.
The Lahore feeder buses’ contract has been approved while tenders have been in process for Multan and Rawalpindi. According to the plan, 100 buses will run on 11 feeder routes in Multan. The fare of feeder buses would be equal in Multan, Rawalpindi and Lahore.
The commuters having metro bus cards will travel freely on first transfer from metro bus to feeder bus and Rs 5 would be charged from passengers on their second transfer to other feeder bus.
The metro bus travelers will pay Rs 25 collectively. The metro bus card will be issued on Rs 130 security deposit. The metro ticket vending machines will recharge the metro smart card upto denominations of Rs 10, 20, 50 and 100.
The metro ticket sales offices are authorized recharging smart cards up to Rs 1,000.
The feeder bus length is measured upto 8 meters compared to metro bus 18 meters. The feeder bus service will be available for commuters having metro bus card.
