PO killed in Kasur
KASUR
A proclaimed offender was killed in an alleged police encounter near Kamal Chishti Chowk in B-Division City police limits.
According to the DPO, Ganda Singhwala police spotted four suspects on two motorcycles and signaled them to stop at a picket near Nai Abadi, Pul Bhadian, but instead of stopping, they resorted to indiscriminate firing and fled. The police started chasing them and informed the nearby police stations.
The B-Division SHO was on a picket near Baba Kamal Chishti Morr when he saw the same suspects. Seeing the police, the accused again started indiscriminate firing. The police also retaliated.
As a result, one of the four suspects was injured while the others fled. He died on way to a hospital. The killed suspect was later identified as proclaimed offender Ghulam Mustafa alias Dhooti alias Mosti. He was reportedly wanted by police of Lahore, Okara and Kasur districts in more than 22 cases of robbery, dacoity, murder, police encounter and illegal weapons. However, the police claimed that the PO was killed by the firing of his accomplices.
