Gangster killed in ‘encounter’

BAHAWALPUR: A gangster was killed in an alleged police encounter near Hathaiji on Wednesday night.
According to district police spokesman, Ghulam Nazik Larr and his three accomplices snatched a motorcycle from Manzoor. On information, police reached the spot and started chasing them. Seeing police, the dacoits opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, Nazik Larr was killed on the spot while his accomplices managed to flee. The killed dacoit was wanted by police of different districts in more than 40 cases of murder, dacoity and abduction for ransom. The body was shifted to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital for autopsy.
