Murder accused escapes from lockup
DPO suspends five policemen, including SHO

HAFIZABAD: An accused escaped from the Sadr police station lockup here on Monday.
The accused, Adnan alias Dani of Wingay village, was involved in five murder and other cases. Police had arrested him from Jahrianwala about two weeks ago. On the day of the incident, the accused managed to escape from the lockup. Meanwhile, District Police Officer Haroon Joiya suspended five police officials - SHO Ghulam Muhammad, Investigation Officer Muhammad Azam and Constables Sarfraz, Akram and Naseer – for negligence. Police have registered a case against the accused policemen and arrested two of them, Sarfraz and Akram.
