The College Education Department of Sindh has sought details of tuition centres from the director general colleges and all regional director colleges so that action can be taken against government teachers teaching there.
The letter written on the instructions of Secretary College Education Asif Akram states that some teachers in government colleges are engaged in private teaching activities at tuition/coaching centres during government working hours.
Such unprofessional behaviour not only violates the principles of public service but also has a negative impact on the academic environment and student attendance in our colleges, it says.
The letter further says that the department is planning to take necessary steps to eliminate such behaviour. “In this regard, you are requested to submit a comprehensive list of tuition/coaching centers operating in your respective district headquarters along with the names of government teachers working with them during working hours, name of district and area, name and postal address of tuition/coaching center and details of teachers by January 22.”
