PPP believes in politics of public service, says governor

LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that Pakistan People's Party believed in politics of service and has always worked for the welfare of the downtrodden.

He expressed these views while talking to a delegation led by district president PPP Dera Ghazi Khan Bahram Khan Buzdar and Pakistan People's Party leader Faisal Mir, who called on him at the Governor’s House on Thursday.

Senior vice president of PPP Central Punjab Rana Farooq Saeed Khan was also present on this occasion. During the meeting, the member of the central executive committee of the Pakistan Ideological Party Abdullah Baig and the president of Lahore Noman Rajput announced joining the People's Party.

Punjab Governor while addressing the delegates welcomed the leaders who joined the party and appreciated the efforts of party leader Faisal Mir. The governor stated that people are joining the party, after being inspired by the vision of the People's Party.

He emphasised that party workers and labourers are the backbone of the party. He acknowledged their tireless efforts and sacrifices saying that the workers are the asset to the party. The governor praised the unwavering dedication of party workers for their unrelenting support through challenging times. He emphasised that the doors of the Governor's House are open to all, regardless of their party affiliation.

The delegation informed the governor about various problems and in response the governor assured the delegation of resolving their problems. Meanwhile, Punjab Governor has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of a school teacher and three children in a collision between a school van and a dumper in Sargodha. He expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident.
