Secy visits Ramazan bazaars

BAHAWALPUR: Provincial Livestock Secretary Naseem Sadiq paid surprise visits to three Ramazan Bazaars here on Saturday.

He inspected different stalls of fruits, vegetables, meat, chicken and other edibles and checked quality of food stuff. He also visited the health camps at these Ramazan Bazaars and inspected stock register of medicines.

Meanwhile, talking to the consumers, who were present there for shopping, the secretary said that the government was mobilising all available resources to ensure quality edibles in the open markets at affordable prices while high quality food stuff was being provided through an effective and comprehensive concessionary price management mechanism at these Ramazan Bazaars throughout the province.

THREE HELD: Hasilpur police recovered 12kg charas, hundreds of liquor bottles and arms during a raid at the house of a drug trafficker at Basti Liperaira on Saturday.

The police arrested three accused, including drug trafficker Akram Abbasi. Police have so far not registered a case. When contacted, the DPO’s PRO said that the case would soon be registered.

RATION DISTRIBUTED: MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti and MPA Haseena Naz distributed ration bags among 70 deserving women here on Saturday. The ration packets include flour, sugar, ghee, pulses and tea bags.
