MINGORA: Three badminton players, hailing from Swat valley, left for a month-long professional training in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Badminton Association President Zafar Ali Kaka sponsored the players to get international standards training in Malaysia.
Speaking to journalists, Zafar Ali said that opportunities for young players were scarce in Pakistan. He lamented that funds allocated for sports were not spent on merit. “After observing the sports situation in the country for some time, I launched a fund with the help of a few friends to sponsor these three badminton players,” he said.
