$8.50m accord inked to upgrade 4 grid stations

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) and Pinggao Group Thursday inked a $8.50 million agreement to upgrade four grid stations from 66-KV to 132-KV to strengthen the transmission system.
According to details, a Chinese delegation of Pinggao Group headed by its General Manager Xu Xiafoei visited the Fesco headquarters and he and GM Operation Fesco Masood Salahuddin signed the accord to upgrade four grid stations of Garh Maharaja, 18-Hazari, Rakh Digran and Kalabagh.
The Pinggao Group would provide services in field of procurement of design, supply and installation for conversion of the grid stations. The project is funded by Asian Development Bank. According to Masood, the grids upgradation work was being done on the special directives of the CEO Fesco Rashid Ahmed Aslam. Chief Engineer PMU Sheikh Jehangir briefed the delegation on the salient features of the project.
