‘Hoarding not to be tolerated’
From Our Correspondent
JHANG: Additional District Collector Muhammad Awais Malik has warned that monopoly and hoarding will not be tolerated.
During his visit to the vegetable and fruit market here on Wednesday, he directed the DO Agriculture, the DO (Coordination) and the market committee secretary to extend their monitoring especially during the auction of fruits and vegetables to avoid artificial price hike. He directed the in-charges of eight Ramazan Bazaars and price control magistrates that provision of quality daily-use items to the citizens was their prime responsibility and no laxity would be tolerated in this regard. He said that hoarders and profiteers could not be allowed to create artificial price hike. During the inspection of Ramazan Bazaars of Shorkot, Ahmadpur Sial, 18 Hazari, Jhang Satellite Town and Jhang City, the ADC directed the ACs and others that indiscriminate action should be taken against the elements involved in hoarding and profiteering. He said that problems of the people could not be realised while sitting in air-conditioned rooms, therefore, there was a need to come out in the field to provide relief to them.
