CS commends police for restoring law and order in Katcha area

A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sindh, Syed Asif Hyder Shah, to review the law and order situation in the Katcha area of the province.

Officials said the meeting was attended by IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, Commissioner Sukkur, DIG Sukkur, Commissioner Larkana, and DIG Larkana. The participants discussed ongoing police operations in the region and their outcomes in detail.

Memon briefed the meeting on the significant successes achieved in the Katcha area since January 1, 2024. He reported that, during the operations, 76 dacoits were killed, 115 injured, and 363 arrested. As a result of these actions, several areas had been cleared of criminal elements, leading to considerable progress in restoring peace and security.

Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah commended the police's performance in restoring law and order in the Katcha area. He directed the police and other law enforcement agencies to adopt a coordinated strategy to sustain these achievements. He emphasised the importance of implementing effective measures to ensure lasting peace and create a safe and secure environment for the residents.

The meeting also underscored the need for close cooperation between the police and district administration. The chief secretary highlighted that all institutions must work together to ensure law and order in the region and provide protection to the public.

Furthermore, future challenges and their solutions were discussed during the meeting. The chief secretary directed law enforcement agencies to proceed with a comprehensive plan, ensuring the use of all available resources to establish and maintain peace in the Katcha area.

He also assured full support for the ongoing operations against dacoits in the region and pledged to equip the police with modern tools and resources to enhance the effectiveness of the operations. Shah reiterated that restoring peace and security remained the government's top priority, and all necessary support would continue to be provided to law enforcement agencies.
