ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Monday sealed two prominent restaurants after citizens/ consumers reported that the restaurants were issuing fake receipts/ invoices.
After determining that the reported receipts were counterfeit, a team of FBR’s Regional Tax Office (RTO) Islamabad sealed the two restaurants and their subsidiary branches in Islamabad and also imposed a penalty of Rs1 million on the restaurants. The FBR says is committed to discourage the fake invoice culture and ensure tax compliance through effective enforcement of tax regulations.
