Ban on heavy vehicles to ease traffic flow

PESHAWAR: Commissioner, Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mahsud has announced a comprehensive plan to eliminate traffic congestion on the University Road, including a ban on trucks and tractors from 7:00 am to 10:00pm and the removal of encroachments.

The decisions were made at a meeting chaired by Riaz Khan Mahsud on the directives of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the additional deputy commissioner Peshawar, director transport, director Excise and Taxation, assistant commissioner University Town and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Riaz Khan Mahsud said, “Ensuring smooth traffic flow on University Road is a top priority. All departments must take this issue seriously and eliminate the factors causing traffic jams. We are committed to finding sustainable solutions to resolve this problem permanently.” The meeting concluded with a firm resolve to utilise all available resources to improve traffic conditions and provide relief to commuters on University Road and its adjoining areas.
