Police claim murder suspect killed by ‘accomplices’ firing

LAHORE : An accused involved in a heinous case of kidnapping and murder was killed by his own accomplices while in the custody of Organized Crime Unit Model Town.

The incident occurred as the police were escorting Arsalan, who was on remand, to the Shafiqabad police station for identification purposes.

According to police, unknown assailants ambushed the police vehicle, opening indiscriminate fire in an attempt to free Arsalan. The 27-year-old suspect sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the attack. Despite the police's immediate efforts to rush him to a nearby hospital, Arsalan succumbed to his injuries en route.

Arsalan was implicated in the gruesome kidnapping and murder of a three-year-old girl. The child, reported missing two weeks ago, was later found brutally murdered, her lifeless body discarded in an open drain.
