SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Sunday that India was supporting terrorism in Pakistan, while Pakistan wanted durable peace with its neighbours, including India.
Addressing a public meeting at the Kingra village, he said that Pakistan was well-aware of the situation and was committed to weeding out terrorism from the country, adding that armed forces of Pakistan had been playing an excellent role in rooting out the militancy, insurgency and terrorism from the country.
Khawaja Asif said the PML-N government was committed to weeding out terrorism from the country as ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ Operation by the armed forces was achieving its goals and meeting with a great success. He said that the whole nation stood united against terrorism and was ready to sacrifice even their lives while battling against terrorism shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces of Pakistan.
Earlier, Khawaja Asif laid the foundation stone of the Government Girls’ Degree College at Bajra Garhi besides inaugurating the Sialkot-Kingra Road, in Pasrur Tehsil. He said the government was spending Rs 1.2 billion on projects for providing better education and communication facilities to locals. He said the government would also spend Rs 56 billion on an early establishment of the Sialkot-Lahore Expressway.
The minister said the PML-N government was committed to resolving all inherited crises on a top priority under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, saying that only the PML-N had a capability to steer the country out of the energy crisis.
Khawaja Asif said that a new golden era of national development and prosperity had begun in the country under the leadership of PM Nawaz Sharif and the world would soon see a developed Pakistan as the government was utilising all its resources to develop the country.
MNA Ch Armughan Subhani, MPAs Rana Liaqat Ali, Ch Tariq Akhtar Subhani, Ch Muhammad Ikram, Rana Muhammad Afzal, Zulfiqar Ghauri and others were also present on the occasion.
