4 killed, 8 injured in Kohat incidents
KOHAT: Four persons were killed and eight others sustained injuries in separate road and firing incidents in the district on Thursday, official sources said.
They said one Asima Bibi allegedly shot dead her husband Shakoor Khan. The body was shifted to the Kohat Development Authority (KDA) Hospital for autopsy and was handed over to the family members for burial. Motive behind the incident could not be ascertained.
Taking action, the police arrested the accused along with the weapon used in the crime. Meanwhile, an elderly man Zain Akbar, 60, was on his way home in Musakhel area when the accused, Muslim Ali, allegedly fired at him over an old enmity, killing him on the spot. The accused managed to flee the scene.
The body was transported to a hospital in Ustarzai area for autopsy and handed over to the family members for burial. In another incident, 17-year-old Qasim Ali ended his life by shooting himself in the head for unknown reasons.
One Muhammad Sharif was on his way on Indus Highway when his vehicle was struck by another vehicle (LFS-4682) coming from the opposite direction. As a result, he died while eight members of the same family including women sustained injuries.
The injured including Khiyal Akbar, Muhammad Asghar, Muhammad Hanif, Bushra Bibi, Nadia Bibi and Aqil Jana Bibi were rushed to the KDA Hospital where their condition was stated to be stable. The police registered separate cases and started investigation.
