Mardan blast: suicide bomber identified
MARDAN: The identity of the suicide bomber who blew himself up at the Kutchery Chowk on Monday was established on Wednesday, police sources said.
They said the suicide attacker was Syed Abdullah Shah alias Abdullah Ghazi, son of Syed Mustafa Shah and resident of Shahiabad in Mohib Banda village.Mohib Banda is located approximately seven kilometres away from the Mardan city on the Mardan-Garhi Kapura Road.
The identity of the suicide attacker, who was 21 years old, was confirmed through the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra).Syed Abdullah Shah was allegedly a commander of the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Mardan.
It may be noted that Par Hoti, Hoti and Mohib Banda that are located in the suburbs of Mardan city have remained the hub of militants in the past.The police and security forces arrested several suspects from these areas during various actions. Several police encounters also took place in these places.
Sources said the police had arrested some facilitators of the suicide bomber after the recent attack.Meanwhile, most of the injured of the Mardan suicide blast have been discharged from the Mardan Medical Complex and the District Headquarters Hospital.
