Power cuts protested in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: The residents of various localities here on Monday took out a protest rally against the hours-long power outages.
The protesters led by Pir Tariq, Zahoor Khan, Abdullah and others, were carrying banners and placards. They chanted slogans against the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) for carrying out prolonged blackouts.
They walked through various areas and blocked Tangi-Charsadda. Speaking on the occasion, they said hours-long power outages had also created acute water shortage.
They asked the government and the Pesco officials to reduce duration of the power cuts or else they would launch a protest campaign. The protesters dispersed peacefully after being assured by the officials of the district administration.
