Nawaz made Pakistan’s defence invincible: Minister

BAHAWALPUR: State Minister for Higher Education and Interior Engineer Baleeghur Rahman has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan a nuclear power to make its defence invincible.
He said this while addressing a function held to celebrate the 18th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbir at his residence on Sunday. MPAs Fozia Ayub, Hasina Naz, Abdul Khaliq Qureshi and other PML-N leaders attended the function. The minister said that due to bold and revolutionary vision of PM Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan became the first atomic power in the Muslim countries. The nuclear capability created strategic and tactical parity in our region, he added. He said that the decision of Nawaz Sharif to conduct nuclear tests was vital for national interest of Pakistani. The state minister asked the all segments of the society to come forward and play their constructive and positive role to make Pakistan more strong and powerful. Later, Baleeghur Rahman and other participants prayed for the speedy health recovery of PM Nawaz Sharif.
Operation against criminals in Katchi Younis
12 gangsters surrendered with arms

BAHAWALPUR: Operation against hardened criminals is successfully under way at Katchi Younis in Machka police limits near Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan border.
This was said by Rahimyar Khan DPO Zeeshan Asghar while talking to newsmen here on Sunday. He said that 12 gangsters of Baga Kosh gang surrendered with arms and ammunition on Saturday night. He said that 54 proclaimed offenders had been arrested during the last 20 days of the operation. He said that 85 per cent area of Katchi Younis had so far been cleared from gangsters. He said that dozens of gangsters wanted in murder, dacoity and other cases were still present in the area and they would soon be arrested.
FOUR KILLED: Four people were killed in different incidents here on Sunday.
In the first incident, Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Qaboola, with two female relatives was going to Bahawalnagar when a bus hit his motorcycle. As a result, Bashir and his relative were killed on the spot while another was injured. In the second incident, 18-year-old Khalid drowned in a canal at Ahmad Wah. In the third incident, an overspeeding car fell into Siddiqia Canal near Rahimyar Khan. As a result, an unidentified car rider was killed on the spot while two others were injured. The injured people were shifted to the Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Rahimyar Khan.
DACOITS HIT THRICE: Cash and valuables were taken away in three incidents here on Sunday.
In the first incident, eight gangsters broke into the store of the ghee and oil dealer at Khan Bela and made off with Rs 1.3 million. The dacoits also tortured the owner on resistance. On information, police rushed to the spot and arrested two dacoits while six others managed to escape.
In the second incident, three motorcyclists looted cash from a petrol pump at Noorpur Nauranga. In the third incident, dacoits looted cash from a medicine company at Noorpur Nauranga.
