Bilawal, Zardari are on the same page: Chandio
Says any statement of PPP chairman is regarded as policy of the party
KARACHI: Adviser to the Chief Minister of Sindh on Information and Archives, Maula Bakhsh Chandio, said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PPPP President Asif Ali Zardari are on the same page, and there are no differences of opinion or policy between them on various political and national issues confronting the country, including the PanamaLeaks.
He added that any statement of the PPP chairman is regarded as policy of the party.
Talking to a private television channel on Thursday, Chandio brushed aside the perception that the PPP was standing with or supporting the federal government, adding that “we are not standing with the government but supporting democracy”.
To a query, he said that PTI chief Imran Khan always sees things with suspicion.
He said that whenever Nazims of MQM are elected in Karachi and Hyderabad, they always ignore and deprive the residential areas of Sindhi speaking people, whereas the PPP believes in serving the people without any linguistic, political or religious discrimination. Chandio said that the people of Sindh are being meted out step-motherly treatment in terms of loadshedding, adding that the people were braving unscheduled and prolonged hours of power failure.
He also criticized the latest statement of the federal state minister for water and power to continue loadshedding even in Ramazan.
Meanwhile, in his separate statement released to the media, the Adviser on Information criticized the federal government for lack of coherence and clearance on foreign policy issues specially on the drone attacks inside Pakistani territory. He added that the drone attacks are a great threat to the sovereignty of the country. Maula Bakhsh Chandio asked whether Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit to London was more important than matters related to national security, adding that “we are friends of America not its slaves”, and that the foundations of our relations with other nations must be based on mutual respect and equality. He said that the sovereignty of the country could not be compromised at any cost.
