Necessary steps to be completed
to face flood situation: DCO

SIALKOT: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Dr Asif Tufail Wednesday said all necessary arrangements would be completed prior to rainy season to handle expected flood situation in the district.
Presiding over a meeting of the District Flood Control Committee, the DCO urged officials of the Irrigation Department to complete the task of maintenance and construction of spurs and ‘bunds’ along the River Chenab and all rivers and nullahs in the District before June 30th.
He also directed administrators of all four Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMA) for immediate completion of the works of desilting of the sewerage drains.
He said all disposal stations must be kept in good working condition to minimize problems of citizens during rains.
He asked all departments to ensure necessary machinery and equipment in good working condition.
Earlier, the DCO distributed 80 android mobile phones among officials of the revenue department.
