DPO claims arresting 72 POs in two months

HAFIZABAD: District Police Officer Muhammad Haroon Joya Tuesday claimed arresting 72 proclaimed offenders in two months.
Talking to a delegation of journalists led by Rana Muhammad Yusuf Waheed, the DPO said strict action was underway against Qabza Mafia, touts and drug peddlers in the district. He said police officers were holding open courts regularly. He urged journalists to identify criminal elements to purge society of them.
FIRE AT MOSQUE: A mosque caught fire at Mohallah Ghariawan, Hafizabad and things worth Rs 50,000 were damaged. The fire erupted owing to a short circuit. Rescue-1122 doused the fire after a great struggle.
OUTAGES: Citizens are facing severe troubles owing to excessive and unscheduled loadshedding.
Several power looms have been closed down owing to loadshedding and several workers are now jobless.
