KOHAT: The police arrested four militants and 55 suspected persons during search operation in the hilly areas of Boraka and Qamar Dhand in Lachi tehsil on Monday, an official said.
Talking to The News, District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Saheeb Khan said that that acting on a tip-off regarding the presence of the militants, a heavy contingent of police launched operation and raided the hideouts of the militants in the mountainous areas of Qamar Dhand and Boraka which were considered as no-go areas and arrested four militants of Zari alias Daday group. He said that the operation was still going on and more arrests were expected, adding that the militants used to kidnap people. The DPO said that most of the areas had been cordoned off so that none of the militants could flee during the operation. He said that the police also arrested 55 suspected persons in the surrounding areas during operation.
