Demo against electricity, gas loadshedding in Multan
From Our Correspondent
MULTAN: Residents of Suraj Kund Road staged a demonstration against electricity and gas loadshedding on Friday.
The protesters led by Muhammad Younis and Qari Ahmad blocked Suraj Kund Road to register their protest. They were chanting slogans against the government. They were also carrying placards and banners. The protesters said that 16-hour electricity loadshedding had made their lives miserable. Many of them also complained of low voltage and frequent tripping. They said that they were also facing gas loadshedding. The protesters also complained of damaged sewerage in the area, besides lack of drinking water.
They said: “We have no option but to block roads in the area. We send our children to schools without breakfast, and the majority of families can’t even provide lunch because the gas supply remains suspended during the day.”
