NAB arrests two retired Gepco officers

GUJRANWALA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested two retired Gepco officers on the charges of corruption and making illegal appointments here on Thursday.
The NAB conducted raids and arrested Gepco former chief executive officer Muhammad Imbrahim Majoka and former HRM director Hashmat Kazmi from their houses. The NAB team took them to Islamabad and started investigation. Both the officers have recently got retirement from the Gepco. It is being expected that more Gepco officers and officials could be arrested by the NAB in the next some days.
TWO KILLERS GET DEATH: Additional District and Sessions Judge Shahzada Masood Sadiq on Thursday awarded death sentence and Rs 50,000 fine each to Asif and Atif.
According to the prosecution, the convicts had gunned down Muhammad Ramzan on July 11, 2012.
Meanwhile, District and Sessions Judge Habibullah Amir awarded life imprisonment to Asad in a murder case. The prosecution said that the convict had killed Muhammad Imran over a minor issue on March 5, 2011.
HUMAN TRAFFICKER HELD: The FIA arrested a human trafficker in Gujrat on Thursday.
The FIA team raided and arrested accused Kashif of Sargodha Road, Gujrat. He was involved in sending people abroad illegally. The team also recovered three Pakistani passports from him.
