PSF tasks Amjad with preparing players for World Junior Squash
KARACHI: The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has given a special task to Amjad Khan to prepare the national junior team for World Junior Squash Championships.
While talking to ‘The News’ on Thursday, Amjad said he would do his best to prepare the youngsters for this big assignment.
“I am very happy to have this honour bestowed on me by the PSF,” said Amjad
The World Junior Squash Championship is scheduled to be played in Poland from August 6-17.
Amjad revealed that he will train Israr Ahmed, Abbas Shoukat, Kashif Asif, Mehran Javed, Abdul Malik, Ahsan Ayaz and Zeeshan for the event.
“The seven junior players will start training with seniors from Friday (today) in Islamabad,” he added.
Amjad, who has also served as Iran’s national coach, said his focus will be to give confidence to the young players.
He added that it is up to the PSF now to decide whether to send him with the team for the championship, in which 200 players in individual category and 26 men’s teams from across the world have already confirmed their entry.
