Cop injured in Lakki attack

LAKKI MARWAT: Two motorcyclists shot and injured a policeman in Naurang town on Wednesday. Officials said that a Constable Kiramat of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) was attacked by two unidentified armed motorcyclists when he was going to Sparli Killay from Naurang city.  He said the cop sustained bullet injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital in Naurang town. The attackers escaped while a large contingent of police force reached the place and launched search operation in the surrounding areas.

 

Girl, alleged paramour killed in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT: A girl and her alleged paramour were killed in Titterkhel village in the vicinity of Ghaznikhel Police Station on Wednesday. “After receiving information a police party reached Titterkhel and found two dead bodies dumped in the outskirts of the village,” said a police official. He said that policemen shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters Hospital in Tajazai. “The deceased were identified as Amjad Ali, resident of Kherukhel Pakka and Shagufta Bibi resident of Titterkhel village,” said the official, claiming that the girl had developed illicit relations with the boy. He said that police registered a case against unknown killers and started investigation.

 

One killed, two injured in DI Khan road accident

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A man was killed and three others sustained injuries when an over-speeding passenger bus hit a tri-wheeler in the limits of Town Police Station on Wednesday.Following the accident, the bus driver fled the scene, said the police. The deceased was identified as one Muhammad Bakhsh while among the injured were his son Ziaur Rehman and nephews Yasin and Allah Ditta. A case has been registered against the bus driver on the complaint of wounded Ziaur Rehman.

 

JUI-F worker shot dead in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unidentified gunmen shot dead an activist of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) in Ramak area of Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday morning.Police sources said the armed men forced their entry into the house of Shah Alam early in the day and gunned him down after torturing him.However, the identity of the assailants and motive behind the killing could not be ascertained. Police have registered a case against unknown assailants. The incident happened hours after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit to Dera Ismail Khan. The premier visited the city on the invitation of JUI-F’s chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

 

FC recruits passed-out

BARA: The passing-out parade of 261 recruits of Mahsud Scouts of the paramilitary forces (Frontier Corps) was held in Bara tehsil of the Khyber Agency on Wednesday.Commandant Mahsud Scouts, Colonel Ayub was chief guest at the passing-out parade held in the Fort Salop.Speaking on the occasion, Col. Ayub said the soldiers and officers of Mahsud Scouts and tribespeople had rendered tremendous sacrifices in war against terrorism. He said that Pakistan was victim of external and external extremism/ militancy and was facing the menace for the last one decade, adding the paramilitary forces would continue to defend the geographical boundaries of the state alongside the army.
