Bhandara appointed as advisor to PHF president
LAHORE: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Tuesday clarified its position about the election of new officials of Punjab Hockey Association.
PHF claimed that PHA’s former president Shahid Pervaiz Bhandara before departure abroad due to his personal commitments showed his inability to continue in the position and resigned.
“However, keeping in view the rich expertise and keen interest in the game of hockey, Brig (Retd) Khalid Khokhar, President PHF, has appointed him as Advisor to President PHF with immediate effect,” said the PHF.
Last week Khawaja Zarrar Kaleem was elected as president of PHA, Col Asif Khokhar — younger brother of Khalid Khokhar — as secretary, and Allah Dad as treasurer. They replaced Bhandara, secretary Ajmal Khan and treasurer Mohammad Arshad.
