Chitral nazim slams MPA for spending Rs360m on native village road
CHITRAL: District nazim on Monday criticised Member Provincial Assembly Salim Khan for spending Rs360 million on the construction of road to his village.
Speaking at a press conference at his office, Maghfirat Shah said that MPA Salim Khan had spent Rs360 million on the construction of road to his Kandozhal village inhabited by 40 families.
“The dilapidated Garum Chashma Road needs Rs50million but the MPA shifted the funds to the road in his village instead of spending it on the main road,” he claimed.The district nazim said that the Garum Chashma road would have served a larger population. He added that the development funds should not be spent on the directives of the MPA.
Speaking on the occasion, a councillor Riaz Ahmed Dewan criticised the government for spending Rs7.7 million on the Chitral festival. He said that money should have been spent on provision of drinking water in the district.
