11 injured in KKH road mishap

MANSEHRA: At least 11 persons sustained injuries when a Gilgit-bound passenger coach overturned on the Karakoram Highway in Lower Kohistan on Saturday.“The condition of three of the injured is highly critical and they have been taken to a hospital in Abbottabad,” Sajid Ali, the District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Lower Kohistan, told reporters.

The coach, which was on its way to Gilgit from Rawalpindi, overturned on the KKH in the Chakai area and 11 passengers belonging to different parts of the country sustained injuries.

The Rescue 1122 squad along with ambulances reached the scene and shifted eight of the

injured to a nearby health facility.

“Our team provided immediate medical relief to all those injured in the accident. And three of the injured were referred to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital Abbottabad due to their serious conditions,” Sajid Ali said.

The injured were identified as Liaqat Ali and Imran Khan of Mardan, Naseem Khan of Attock, Mohammad Saddam and Sadaqat Khan of Haripur, Izhar Khan, Rehan Ali and Hazrat Hussain of Lower Dir, Rasheed Ahmad of Chitral, Ihsanullah of Bajaur, and Javed Khan of Batkhela, Malakand.
