Karachi thump Hyderabad in U16 cricket
KARACHI: Left-arm spinner Aarish Ali Khan took ten wickets in the match to enable Karachi Region crush Hyderabad Region by an innings and 19 runs in the Pepsi-PCB Stars Under-16 Tournament 2016 here at the National Stadium.
On the last day of the two-day battle on Saturday, Aarish, who had taken 7-44 in the first innings, picked 3-61 to dismiss Hyderabad for 162 in 58 overs in their second innings after being forced to follow-on.
Saud Jafferi belted 48 off 103 balls, hitting eight fours. Aarish was equally well supported by spinner Mohammad Taha with 3-24.
In response to Karachi’s first innings total of 264-8 declared, thanks to a fine 206-run opening stand by Jehanzeb Sultan (105) and Taha Mehmood (99), Hyderabad perished for 83 with Aarish emerging as the main destroyer with the leather as he captured seven wickets in his magical spell.
