Every task is eventually entrusted to SC: CJP
Says there is no such thing as good governance in country
ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, has said that whatever the matter, it ultimately comes to the Supreme Court, and there is no such thing as good governance in the country.
Do the courts have to do all the things? he asked. The Chief Justice of Pakistan heard a petition on Friday against cutting of trees due to construction of a private housing society in Murree filed by the people of the area.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali remarked that the country’s institutions have gone bankrupt, and now even a matter relating to cutting of trees is being brought to the Supreme Court. The Chief Justice said that there is no such thing as good governance in the country, and that is why every task ultimately comes to us. The court held a brief hearing in the petition against cutting of trees in Murree filed by the people of the area and adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
