Aqeel enters Subh-e-Nau National Clay Court Tennis semis
KARACHI: Top seed Aqeel Khan continued his winning streak and qualified for the semi-finals of Subh-e-Nau National Clay Court Tennis Championship 2016 at PTF Complex Tennis Courts in Islamabad.
Aqeel won the quarter-final against Mudassar Murtaza, recording a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
In the last-four stage, Aqeel will take on Arham, who beat seventh seed Usman Rafique 6-1, 7-6(4). He had defeated third seed Yasir in his second round match.
Fourth seed Shehzad Khan recovered from a set down to beat eighth seed Muzammil Murtaza 6-7(6), 6-2, 6-4. He will face Muhammad Abid, who overpowered Heera Ashiq 7-6(1), 7-4.
Aman Atique and Nofil Kaleem qualified for boys under-18 semi-finals.
Top seed Sarah Mahboob reached semi-finals of ladies singles when she beat Yasha Atique 6-0, 6-1. Meheq Khokhar, Ushna Suhail and Sara Mansoor also confirmed their presence in the semi-finals.
