Heads of govt depts asked to suspend corrupt officials

GUJRANWALA: Anti-Corruption Establishment Regional Director Rana Abdul Shakoor has issued letters to the heads of government departments for suspension of those officials involved in corruption cases.
Talking to The News, the ACE director told that about 100 cases had been registered recently against corrupt officials of various departments including police, highway, revenue, education, public health, irrigation and LG and now heads of these departments had been asked to take action against them. The copies of FIRs registered against the corrupt officials had also been attached with the letter, he added. Meanwhile, the ACE director issued orders for the arrest of patwaris Tariq Mahmood and Nazir Shah allegedly involved in record tempering cases. He also ordered for the arrest of UC secretary Khalid Hussain for allegedly taking Rs 5,000 bribe from a man.

GUJRANWALA: Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Bashir on Wednesday ordered medical checkup of a seminary student who was allegedly tortured by his teacher.
Waris Ali of Shaheenabad in his application alleged that his 13-year-old son Zain Ali was a student of a seminary. The complainant alleged that the seminary’s teacher accused Qari Muhammad Munir tortured his son, which made him unconscious. Later, the accused allegedly threw his son on the doorstep of my house and fled, the complainant added.
