Four die as flood washes away car in Landikotal incident kills two in Charsadda
LANDIKOTAL: Three children and a woman were killed while two others were wounded when a car was washed away by flood in Ogay area of Loey Shalman in Khyber Agency, local sources said on Wednesday.
Waris Yousuf and his family members were taking a patient to Landikotal hospital in a car. When they reached Ogay area, flash flood washed away the vehicle. Locals rushed to the site to rescue the victims. An eyewitness told The News that after three hours of hectic efforts, four bodies and two injured were pulled out of the floodwater.
The injured were taken to the Agency Headquarters Hospital. The dead were identified as wife of Waris Yousuf and his three children aged between 6 and 14 years. Waris Yousuf and Miram Gul were injured in the incident.
Two killed in roof collapse: Two persons, including a child, were killed and five others sustained injuries in house collapse incidents after torrential rains in Charsadda, local sources said.
A woman and a child identified as Hilal were killed and three women were injured when the roof of a mud house in Panra Jranda village in Tangi tehsil collapsed. Two other persons were injured when roofs of two houses in Malakano and Gulabad localities collapsed. The injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Charsadda.
