KARACHI: Left-arm spinner Aarish Ali Khan captured 12 wickets and Mohammad Taha produced a fine all-round performance to enable Karachi to inflict a 37-run defeat on Rawalpindi on the second and final day of their Pepsi-PCB Under-16 Inter-Region Cricket Championship match here at the SBP Sports Complex on Wednesday.
Aarish bagged 6-49 in 14.4 overs to enable Karachi Region to dismiss Rawalpindi for only 92 in 29.4 overs in their second innings while chasing a target of 130.
Ziad Khan top-scored with 43 which he made off 71 balls.
Mohammad Taha had impressive figures of 4-23 in nine overs.
Having conceded 42 runs lead, Karachi were all out for 171 in 40.2 overs in their second innings.
Taha struck fine 49 off 30 balls, smacking four fours and a six.
Mohammad Usman chipped in 31-ball 38, while Mohammad Junaid cracked 24-ball 26.
Spinner Mehran Raja bowled with tight line and length, picking 5-39. Awais Abid captured 3-38.
